Tertiary Institutions To Reopen On January 9 – Akufo-Addo

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has indicated that Tertiary Institutions in Ghana will reopen on January 9 for academic work.

According to the President, the decision was reached based on data from schools which were reopened for examination to take place last year.

Also, pupils of the various Basic Schools are supposed to be back in school on January 15 whiles Form 2 and 3 Senior High Schools will reopen on January 18.

The President indicated that the Double Track system will end for SHS 1 and 3 students after the government expanded infrastructure in the existing schools across the country.

However, SHS 2 students will continue the double-track system on reopening.

The President indicated that prior to the reopening of the schools, the government will ensure that the schools are fumigated with all PPEs provided to ensure that all protocols will be adhered to strictly to avoid the spread of the deadly disease.
