KTU: Major Decision Taken At Executive Committee Of The Academic Board On Covid-19 Update

MAJOR DECISION TAKEN AT THE EIGHTH (8TH) MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE ACADEMIC BOARD HELD AT THE ABBA ENTIL CONFERENCE ROOM.

In furtherance to the president’s directive and subsequent closure of the university on 16th March, 2020, the Executive Committee of the Academic Board on the containment of COVID-19. The Following major decisions were taken at the eighth (8th) Executive Committee of the Academic Board:

  1. Final Year Students to Leave Campus
    All final year students (BTech/Non-Tertiary) currently on campus are to leave by 6.00pm on 24th March, 2020.
  1. Closure of GET Fund Hostel
    The GET Fund Hostel will be closed to students by 24th March, 2020 at 6.00pm.
  1. Providers of Essential Services
    Providers of the following essential services will be expected to be post
  • Security staff
  • Cleaners / Labourers
  • Selected Drivers
  • ICT
  • Clinic staff
  • Automotive Services
  1. New Working Arrangement
    All Administrative offices in the University will operate on rotational basis with skeletal staff from 9.00am to 2.00pm.
  1. Administrative Staff at the Faculties / Directorates
    Administrative staff at the Faculties / Directorates / Academic offices will be on call. All-Academic staff will be expected to stay at home until further notice.
  1. National Service Persons
    All National Service persons are expected to stay at home until further notice.
  1. Provision of COVID-19 Amenities
    Veronica Bucket with anti-bacterial washing soap will be placed at vantage points in all the seven (7) blocks in the University. Enough hand sanitizers will be made available to all offices.
  1. Strict Adherence to the COVID-19 Protocols
    Staff are encouraged to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 protocols by washing their hands regularly under running water. Apply hand sanitizers and adopt social distancing protocols.
