The University teams worked closely together to deliver these tailored programmes to help them to gain a better understanding of the operation of phlebotomy. Trainees also had opportunities to engage with the Regional Hospital for practical experience.

SIGNIFICANCE OF PHLEBOTOMY

 Mr. Chairman,

Phlebotomy training is a course designed to prepare students to work as Healthcare Technician Specialists. Phlebotomists are skilled health care professionals who have been trained to handle and process blood and other specimens for laboratory analysis using venipuncture and micro collection techniques.

Through a hands-on training approach, our instructors train students in these areas and upon completion of the course, the Phlebotomy Technician Certificate programme prepares graduates to work as Healthcare Technicians Specializing in phlebotomy. The primary job responsibilities for a certified phlebotomist involve drawing blood and preparing it for lab testing. The skills acquired from this programme is adequate to enable participants to successfully carry out this function.
