  2. Issues of authentication
  3. Submitting of final results
  4. Concerns raised on manipulating results

The KTU SRC Awards committee (Client) contracted my company GiBit Technology (Developer) to develop and deploy an electronic voting system to be used in voting of nominee for the competitive categories of the awards in less than a 24hours period (3rd May – 4th May)

We worded within the time frame and launched the system at about 2pm Friday 4th May which will run for a week, meaning the system will be close on 11th May, 2018.

Issues of not able to vote (Invalid Code)

Students who were not able to vote might have been that they have not been registered for the second semester. Only registered students were used at the time

Issues of authentication

We and the committee deliberated on concerns raised about students who were voting with others index numbers either with or without their concern and it was agreed that the system should be authenticated by a password which the student only knows in the 4th edition of the awards. This was not taken care of because of the limited time and getting the passwords to each student was also a challenge.

Submitting of final results

As we deployed the system, the award committee had an administrator panel which they could monitor the incoming results, so there was no way we (developer) could have altered the results in favour of an nominee. And before lumen (main organiser) called for the results, the committee had printed a copy. I will want to state that we as system developer do not call awards results, we only presented the results as it is on the system.

Concerns raised on manipulating/altering results

We own it no duty to respond to anybody or group of persons who try to reach us on voting issues, system and the final results. The SRC Award committee will be in the best position to respond to any concerns.

WE WILL WANT TO STATE IT CLEAR THAT, THE COMMITTEE MADE US
UNDERSTAND THAT, LUMEN ENTERTAINMENT (MAIN ORGANISER) WILL
PAY US FOR THE SYSTEM AND GODWIN DOGBEY OF LUMEN ACCEPTED TO
PAY US AN AMOUNT OF 500GHC, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN PAID AS AT NOW

The Official results will be release on the orders of the award committee

Thank you.

Signed
