KTU SRC Blood Donation Exercise

Burn Keita by Burn Keita

KTU SRC in collaboration with the National Blood Service, Ghana, will organize a blood donation exercise to support the Regional Blood Bank during this year’s SRC Akwaaba week celebration.

According the World Health Organization (WHO), about 800 women die worldwide from pregnancy or childbirth-related complications, with several bleeding during delivery. In spite of the remarkable achievements of medical science today, there is no factory that manufactures blood. It is only human beings that human blood is made and circulated.

As a nation, we experience a perennial shortage of blood at the National Blood Bank and other Regional Hospitals due to the inadequate numbers of voluntary donors. We are calling on the entire University community to come out to support our effort by donating a pint of blood.
